Professor Pan Guang, from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), visited the SIAS on August 24, 2015 and gave a lecture on how to write special reports. The institute’s Executive Director Hu Hua made a welcome speech.  

Sharing his expertise in international studies, Professor Pan identified three types of special reports depending on the subject matter: big events, breaking news, and urgent issues under ongoing discussion. Drawing on his own experiences, he elaborated on ways to tackle each type of writing.
