On November 22, 2019, Associate Professor Diao Damingfrom the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China gave alecture on the 2020 US presidential campaign and the impeachment inquiry ofDonald J. Trump.

After addressing the significance of the 2016 USpresidential campaign and the transitions of party politics in America, ProfessorDiao looked into possible new trends in next year’scampaign, the development of the impeachment inquiry into Trump, and itsimpact on the 2020 presidential election. He also talked about the changes in US domestic politics reflected in the election,and its interactions with US foreign policy.

Professor Diao also shared his ideas on currentChina-US relations with SIAS research staff.
