ACPAI and Jewish American leaders visit SIAS

On November 18, 2019, SIAS welcomed a delegation of America China Public Affairs Institute (ACPAI) and Jewish American leaders, led by Fred Teng, President of ACPAI. Mr. Teng was joined by William Daroff, CEO-designate of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Michael Miller, Executive Vice President & CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and four other members of the delegation. SIAS Executive Director Mr. Hu Hua gave a brief introduction to the development of SIAS in the past 10 years and our efforts in advancing China-US relations, bilateral local exchanges and American studies in China. Then the delegation watched SIAS 10th anniversary video with other participants at the meeting.

Professor Pan Guang, senior fellow at China Top Think Tanks of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) and Director of the Center for Jewish Studies Shanghai (CJSS), Mr. Dao Shuming, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association and Professor Wang Jian, Director of the Institute of International Relations at SASS joined SIAS research staff at the meeting. They shared their research and insights with the delegation on a variety of topics, including Jews in Shanghai, current China-US relations, local exchanges between the two countries and China-Israel relations.
