Following President Xi’s state visit to the US from September 22 to 25, 2015, the SIAS co-organized a seminar on September 26 with support from the Shanghai Association of International Studies, the Shanghai Association of American Studies and the international department of the Jiefang Daily. Participants agreed that high level exchange could help strengthen mutual trust and eliminate misunderstanding. 

Experts at the meeting shed light to various aspects of President Xi’s visit to the US, sharing insights into the background, highlights and outcomes of the event. In particular, they probed into the impact of cyber security controversies and the South China Sea issue on Sino-US relations.
