On July 7, 2020, SIAS held the first of this year’s Marine Salon series focusingon the East China Sea issue. Those who participated talked about the East China Sea issue and the American factor behind it, trilateral interactions between China, US and Japan in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also shared their ideas on how to deal with the Taiwan issue and improve China-Japan relations. 

Academics from the Ocean University of China(OUC), Shanghai International Studies University, Fudan University, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies(SIIS) joined SIAS research staff at the meeting.
