SIAS hosts seminar on US-Iran relations
Atthe beginning of 2020, the US killing of the commander of Iran’s Quds ForceQassem Soleimani through precision strikes evoked worldwide repercussions, andfurther complicated US-Iran relations. SIAS held a seminar to evaluate the future of US-Iran relations and its implications on the Middle East. Participants talked about how will US-Iran relations develop after this incident, transitionsof American policy and the geopoliticsin the Middle East, as well as how theincident will affect China both in regional and internationallevels.
Academicsand experts from the Shanghai International Studies University, the ShanghaiAcademy of Social Sciences (SASS), the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies(SIIS) and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Bureau joined SIAS research staff at themeeting.
