On July 7, 2015, the SIAS welcomed Wang Yongjian, from the general office of the Shanghai municipal government, who came to give a lecture on how to write official documents. 

With years of experience working in the municipal government, Mr Wang delved into the question of how to compose official documents with vivid examples. He introduced the common types of official documents, and basic rules of drafting them. Mr Wang also suggested ways to improve writing skills.
