On May 20, Liu Qin, Dean of College of Foreign Languages of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and Executive Deputy Director of Shanghai Public Diplomacy Institute, and other seven members from the institute visited SIAS. Hu Hua, Advisor of SIAS, Huang Cheng, Executive Vice President of SIAS, and other SIAS research staff joined the panel.

After a brief introduction of the history of SIAS, Mr. Hu Hua noted that SIAS has a long-term friendly cooperation and exchanges with the USST, which should be brought to a higher level. Mr. Huang Cheng introduced the operation and organizational structure of SIAS, and shared his ideas on future cooperation between the two institutes. Liu Qin briefed the participants the development of the College of Foreign Languages at USST and Shanghai Public Diplomacy Institute, then examined the potential for cooperation between the two sides from different aspects. Participants exchanged their views on a variety of topics, from student social practice, talent exchanges and resource sharing. Both sides expressed a common intent in cooperation with the aspiration to widen partnership and to thrive together.
