SIAS hosts lecture on China-US strategic competition

On August 12, 2020, President ofSIAS, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of Center forAmerican Studies, Professor Wu Xinbo delivered the lecture “On China-USStrategic Competition” at SIAS.

During the lecture, President Wudefined the two forms of great power competition, then analyzed the evolutionof the US strategic competition with China and the three China policy proposalsinside the Trump administration. On this basis, he further scrutinized theroles played by the European Union, Russia and South-East Asia in thisstrategic competition. He also proposed three possible scenarios in China-UScompetition. His lecture updated the audience about the latest dynamics and keyissues in China-US relationship.

Mr. Quan Heng, ExecutivePresident of Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations (SFSSA), Mr. Xie Chao, Deputy Vice President of the SFSSA, members of the SFSSA joined  SIAS research staff at the lecture.They shared their views with President Wu on thekeystone of US China policy, the prospect of China-US cooperation and other issues.
