On November 6, 2019, Jacob Anderegg, Utah State senator and co-chair of the Senate International Relations and Trade Committee visited SIAS. Mr. Anderegg was joined by Dan Stephenson, Director of Overseas Sponsorships of the Spike 150 Commission, William Wang, Deputy Director of International Relations of the commission and Linda Egnatz, Executive Director of Global Seal of Biliteracy.   

The major purpose of the delegation’s visit to China was to attend the second China International Import Expo (CIIE). They were also invited to attend the US-China Sub-national Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and the Hainan Free Trade Zone Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar. Mr. Anderegg appreciated the role which SIAS had played in promoting local, economic and trade exchanges between Shanghai and Utah. Speaking highly of the second CIIE, he pledged to arrange Utah delegation to take part in the third CIIE next year. The delegation also shared their ideas about current China-US relations with SIAS research staff.
