On October 26, 2018, the SIAS jointly held a seminar on the South China Sea issue and China-US relations, together with the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies (CICSCSS) at Nanjing University. The seminar was co-chaired by SIAS Executive Director Hu Hua and CICSCSS Executive Director Professor Zhu Feng. Academics and experts from the CICSCSS, the Naval Command College, PLA National Defense University, and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Bureau joined the SIAS research staff at the meeting.

Those whom participated looked into the status quo of the South China Sea issue and its implications for China-US relations and the two countries’ bilateral military ties.
