SIAS hosts seminar ‘US Presidential Election Results and China-US Relations’

As Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton defying the pundits and polls, the SIAS hosted the seminar “2016 US Presidential Election Results and China-US Relations” on November 9, 2016. The event was co-organized by Shanghai Association of International Relations, Shanghai Association of American Studies and Wenhui Daily. The participating scholars and experts analyzed new developments and features of American society in light of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. They also predicted and assessed impacts of a Trump administration on the development of China-US relations.

The meeting was moderated by Yang Jiemian, Director of the Academic Commission of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Vice Chairman of the China National Association for International Studies, and Chairman of Shanghai Association of International Relations. Academics from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and Shanghai International Studies University attended the meeting.
