Maritime Strategies of the US and other Asia-Pacific Countries

Posted:2017-02-09

As China strives to build its sea power and develop its own maritime strategy, it is helpful to look into the maritime strategies of its neighboring countries. Oceans have generated growing importance to national well-being, as foreground of diplomatic confrontations.

Following a national call to build up China’s power at sea, a resolution reaffirmed in a report at the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the SIAS compiled the book series Maritime Strategies of the US and Other Asia-Pacific Countries, a total of eight volumes published by Current Affairs Press from July to November, 2016.

The books offer an overview of the maritime strategies of the US, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, India and Australia, and present solid analyses on these countries’ maritime security, marine management, ocean protection, educational, scientific and cultural strategy, as well as their maritime diplomacy and related international politics. Drawing lessons in strategic planning, the books also help readers to achieve a better understanding of our neighboring environment.
